HRISTOS TOLIS is a filmmaker and musician. He was born and raised in Athens. He studied Mech. Engineering at NTUA and received his Master's Degree in Shipping from the University of Piraeus. Since 2010 he has been working as a professional photographer and later as a director of photography and cinematographer. He has produced documentaries for UNHCR (2021), IFRC (2018) and WWF (2019). He has also worked in artistic productions as a technical director and lighting designer. In 2020 he directed his first short film while in 2023 the documentary he and Olga Laskaratou created, "A Voice in the Night", was included in the official selections of the Thessaloniki International Documentary Festival and subsequently won the Cosmocinema award at the London Greek Film Festival. He founded Sub.Urban Images and Soundscapes in 2013.
